The Resurrection of my blog

Holy cow, it's been a long time since I posted. I should preface the rest of this post by noting that I've just finished Surprised by Hope by N.T. Wright, and it was an absolutely fantastic book. I responded to it in a comment on Winn's blog. Perhaps I'll say more about it here in my next post.

Will pointed me to this video clip, an interview with N.T. Wright on the Colbert Report. It's not as funny as I would have thought, largely because Wright rolls with Colbert's humor and gets on with trying his best to sum up a 350 page book in 5 minutes. There are some funny moments, though - my favorite was when Wright (a bishop of the Anglican church) said he played golf with leaders of the Catholic church for a dogma a hole.

Without further ado, here's the video:

  1. That was my favorite part, too. And he was just so British in his comments. Whenever Colbert made a quip, he would reply, almost under his breath, before returning to point. I think he gave Stephen a run for his money.

I'll never understand how you read so much.

  2. For a self proclaimed avid reader, I really don't read all that much. That book took me a month and a half to get through. You should see how many books Liz knocks out!

  3. You inspire me to find time to read more - not just when I'm on vacation. While reading your post on Winn's blog about the book Surprised by Hope, I said "I think Jeromie will write a book one day."
