I lost my phone contacts!

When trying to upgrade the software on our phones so we could actually make and receive calls near our house, Verizon bricked my phone. I lost all my contacts - if I know you, could you send me an email at jeromie at gmail dot com with your phone number? If I don't know you but I should, you can send me an email with your phone number and an introduction. :-)

(This was after the first store we went to sent us to another store across town because they knew their machines were breaking phones, by the way.)

Life in the city

I've just had to come to terms with the fact that I'm going to have to miss some really great concerts that come near me. I can't possibly afford to go see all the bands I like that come to town. I can't possibly see all the bands I like that are coming to town this week. Here's the lineup:

Wednesday: Counting Crows with Maroon Five

Thursday: Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer

Saturday: Sigur Ros (at Red Rocks!)

Assuming I can get tickets to even one of these, what's a guy to do?

Living in a dream

If you know my wife at all, you will understand the ridiculousness of the fact that we are sitting in a small town high in the Rocky Mountains in a coffee / bicycle repair shop that has been converted from an old train. It's like some dream that she had unexpectedly turned into reality, and we found ourselves plopped down in the middle of it.

You can read her impressions at her blog.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who sent a note or left a message of encouragement for my birthday. It meant a lot to me. I had a great birthday (Liz managed to get a bunch of people together to hang out and play games.), but I miss you all dearly.

New Beginnings

Genesis

A lot has happened since my last real blog post. So much, really, that I don't know what to say.

I've visited family in Alabama, Texas, and Nebraska. I've relocated from South Carolina to Colorado. I've left behind some fantastic, deep friendships and begun forming new ones. I've started working on my M. Div at Denver Seminary. It's been a heck of a month.

It truly feels that God has prepared a place for Liz and I in Colorado. We love the nearness of the mountains. We love the home we're sharing with another couple. We love our classes. We love the church we've been attending. We love the people we've been meeting.

Not all things have been perfect, of course. But life is good.

I'm still alive

But that's all I have time to say at the moment...
